Police have released photos of the baby’s clothes while searching for the mother of a newborn found dead at an Auckland recycling facility.
Detective Inspector Scott Baird said some of the clothes were found in a blue plastic bag, including a baby beanie and a sweater.
He said that two children with colorful prints have been found in the area.
Beard said that while detectives could not fully determine if the clothing was attached to the child – anyone who recognized him should contact the police.
An autopsy earlier this week revealed the baby may have been a newborn, but his race was not determined.
Earlier this week, Beard said police would not release details of the post-mortem results, but said it raised further concerns about the baby’s mother’s well-being and health.
Beard said he has received very limited information since the police appeal on Tuesday.
