Lachlan Alexander Johnson, who shot and killed Mitchell Mossen in rural Taranaki on February 28, 2022, will be tried again for murder.
A date has been set for the retrial of Tarnaki, a man accused of murder.
Lachlan Alexander Johnson, 56, shot and killed Mitchell Mossen on August 22, 2020, after visiting his Corito RD home near New Plymouth.
Johnson’s trial began in New Plymouth High Court on August 2, and after five days of evidence, the jury considered two days.
The next day, at the end of August 11, a hung jury was announced – meaning they could not decide by consensus or majority.
The jury trial is scheduled for February 28, 2022.
