Some public health leaders are urging Auckland to get all additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the government.
The government has received 250,000 doses from Spain in an effort to continue the country’s progress on the Covid 19 vaccine before a large batch arrives directly from Pfizer next month.
Auckland’s epidemiologist Rod Jackson says most returnees spend their organized isolation in Auckland and that the vaccinated population could prevent another Delta variant infiltration.
Meanwhile, another undiagnosed case of Covid 19 has been spent at Auckland’s Middlemore Hospital, and patients who have become contact have been isolated.
Before deciding to go home, the patient spent time in the short stay ward, but later tested positive for Covid 19 at the hospital.
