What’s in South Canterbury this weekend: September 10-12.

Operator Jane Bowen, owner of Street Food Kitchen, will host a safe Oktoberfest this weekend.

Two meters of social distance must be observed and masks must be worn at events, while many activities, fundraisers and entertainment in South Canterbury have been postponed to Alert Level 1 in Cowed 19 Alert Level 2.

Friday:

Beer Festival: 11.30 -1am Friday, Saturday and Sunday Street Food Kitchens, 2 George St., Temaro. Oktoberfest with thematic additions.

September:

Cycling: Twilight Temaro Classic Cycling Race at 9.30am on Twilight at Mr. Hut. The 151-kilometer race takes rides from the town of Bezel to Temaro via the beautiful Lake Pacquiao, Ticapo, Fairley, and Pleasant Point.

Plant sales: 9.30am in front of NZ Raptor Trust Site Redruth, The Crows Nest. A New Zealand Raptor Trust plant cell fundraiser with plants, shrubs, bulbs and tree plants.

Resuming Saturday at Alert Level 2:

Temaro Artisan Farmer Market: 9 am-12.30pm, 2 George St.

Wemat Community Market: 9am to 12pm at Sedan Square in Weymouth.
