Wendy Smith, chief executive of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, says the government’s response shows the importance of the chamber network.
A request from the government to reinstate aid payments for businesses affected by the lockdown restrictions appears to be working.
Wendy Smith, chief executive of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, said chambers in her chamber, as well as in Auckland and elsewhere, have asked the government to pay for the restoration of more Covid 19.
Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson announced Friday that the second round of aid payments would open with requests starting Friday, September 17.
“This response from the government reflects the importance of the chamber network and our ability to communicate and influence government thinking and action.
* The government is seeing the need for more Covid 19 support for the business.
* The government opened up the restoration of the Covid 19 to help businesses cover costs
* News of wage subsidy for business ‘positive’.
“It’s not exactly what we asked for, but we’re happy with the results and it should help businesses that are under a lot of pressure.”
The scheme will remain available until all New Zealand Alerts return to Level 1.
Requests were again through domestic revenue, and the standards still apply – a minimum 30% reduction in revenue over seven days as a result of warning level 2 or higher, and for the second round of payments, drop Must be within seven days starting September 8
Rehabilitation support payments apply to Level 2 and above, Robertson said. There will then be two more payments, three weeks apart, as long as the RSP terms apply.
“The government’s RSP was initially introduced as a one-time payment to help businesses cover their fixed costs, such as rent. Agreed to provide additional payment for.
Payment included a core business rate of 15 1,500 plus 400 400 per employee, a total of 50 full-time equivalents, with a maximum payment of 21 21,500.
Businesses with more than 50 full-time employees can still apply but cannot get more than the maximum payment.
